SENKU
Crafted with time-honored Japanese manufacturing and special finishing down to the details, the SENKU hook—enhanced with fluorine coating—delivers penetration among the very best in Japan.
By relaxing the point bend angle slightly, we improved the initial set; once the point lands on the seabream’s lip, it continues to bite deeper, stitching in securely. The design deftly combines elements of both “nosing” (letting the fish load the rod) and “quick hook set,” making it easy to hook and resistant to throw-offs.
Balancing sharpness and strength, we use a 0.86 mm wire—neither too thick nor too thin—and selectively forge the shank to prevent lip tears while preserving firm hold.
