Introducing a big single developed from the Akashi Standard Single with a focus on both drawing power and usability. Rather than simply scaling up the original, we reworked the design to eliminate the typical drawbacks of going larger.

We repeatedly tested sheet thicknesses from 0.5 mm to over 0.8 mm, and finalized the optimal 0.7 mm. The result adapts to all retrieve speeds, from ultra dead-slow to high speed.

While fully inheriting the EZ Curly series concepts—ease of use and tangle resistance—the Magnum also delivers the power you expect from a big single.

Dialed-in size and action

Despite being a “big single,” it’s not oversized. It’s set to a size you’ll feel like using all year without losing swimming power. That confidence to keep winding is a real factor in catching more fish.

The wide action characteristic of the Akashi Standard is very much alive. Even in scenarios where you entice within 2 meters of bottom with two or three slow handle turns, it swims solidly and appeals strongly to red seabream.
